ROTE Island
Rote Island is an Indonesian island located in East Nusa Tenggara, the province of the Lesser Sunda Islands. According to the legends, this island received its name by accident when a lost Portuguese sailor arrived at its shores and asked a passing farmer where he was. The surprised farmer, who could not speak Portuguese, introduced himself, as “Rote”.
This design in turn was inspired by Rote’s culture: Ti’l Langga.
